The Resy Hit List: Where In Detroit You’ll Want to Eat Right Now

By

There’s no question we hear more often: Where should I go eat? And while we at Resy know it’s an honor to be the friend who everyone asks for restaurant advice, we also know it’s a complicated task. That’s where the Resy Hit List comes in.

We’ve designed it to be your essential resource for dining in and around Detroit: a monthly-updated (and newly expanded!) guide to the restaurants in that you won’t want to miss — tonight or any night.

Four Things In Detroit Not to Miss This Month

  • BOH Goes FOH: The last Wednesday of each month, Marrow is presenting a new monthly event, “Little Dishes.” Hosted entirely by the skilled back of the house, expect a delightful array of small plates priced between $6 and $10 each. With each dish comes a wristband, and payment is conveniently settled at the event’s conclusion based on wristband count. With a DJ and unique batched cocktails, here’s an opportunity to savor innovative dishes not on the regular menu. Or, book a table and enjoy its usual delights.
  • Corktown’s Parade Day: The 66th annual Detroit St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which typically attracts from 80,000 to 100,000 people to Detroit’s oldest neighborhood, takes place March 10 along Michigan Avenue. The parade ends at 14th Street, right outside the door to Slows Bar BQ (the wooden one, for those who still haven’t found it). They’re serving beer and whiskey specials from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Love Letter to NOLA: This three-night menu takeover at Voyager is guaranteed good times, on Mar. 21, 22, and 23. While not a Mardi Gras bash, expect a lineup of familiar favorites alongside vintage absinthe-infused classics and Bourbon Street party cup staples.  No tickets and nothing pre-paid on this one, but reservations are highly encouraged via the links above.
  • 313 Day Taco Takeover: Mexico’s Middle Eastern population had a huge influence on the country, and Detroit’s beloved Carlos Parisi and Chef Omar Amani of Saffron De Twah are finally collaborating on a pop-up to showcase this rich history … on Detroit Day. They’ll take over the Saffron kitchen on March 13 to serve up a night of tacos with history. Items include tacos arabes, tacos a la parillada, tacos de nopal, and the coveted Saffron fish taco, with proceeds benefitting Palestinian families.
