When one considers Houston cuisine, sandwiches aren’t typically the first food that comes to mind. Amazing tacos? Yes. Ridiculously tender brisket? Absolutely. BLTs and pastrami on marble rye? Not so much. But hear us out: Maybe sandwiches should have a larger place in Bayou City food conversations — after all, the H boasts a wide variety of the lunch staple with something to suit every taste, from Vietnamese banh mi and barbecue on brioche buns to savory-sweet hot chicken sandwiches and Cajun po’ boys galore.
