The Resy Hit List: Where In Portland You’ll Want to Eat Right Now

By

There’s no question we hear more often: Where should I go eat? And while we at Resy know it’s an honor to be the friend who everyone asks for restaurant advice, we also know it’s a complicated task. That’s where the Resy Hit List comes in.

We’ve designed it to be your essential resource for dining in Portland: a monthly-updated (and newly expanded!) guide to the restaurants in that you won’t want to miss — tonight or any night.

Four Things In Portland Not to Miss This Month

  • Jack’s Back: One of the best and most beloved bar menus in town has returned to Northwest Portland, and with it, founding chef Aaron Barnett. St. Jack, the longtime French bistro known for its excellent, occasion-worthy bouchon menu, debuted a new bar menu last month with a must-try selection of old favorites and new stunners. Grab a seat at the sleek, silver bar near the iconic melted wax candles and order a Jack’s Manhattan to pair with the chicken liver mousse.
  • 15 Miles To The …  Brand-new Love Shack, from the team behind Northwest Portland’s veg-forward G-Love, is taking the cocktail bar in a different direction. The hospitality-forward steakhouse-meets-dinner party vibe is built largely around brass carts pushed around the space, dim-sum style. Grab oysters, wonton fish tacos, pint-sized martinis and more, or order the prime rib, served with a glittering sparkler. (Or book a table at G-Love, as the occasion suits.)
  • Disco Fever: For the past few months, Southeast Foster’s popular Street Disco has been home to a rotating line-up of hot pop-ups —  Taiwanese, Cantonese, French cafe pop-up Cafe Shellgot — as well as one-night only collabs like this month’s Relevér: Taco Bell, which sold out in minutes. Keep tabs on their Resy page and Instagram to stay in the know, and be mindful the restaurant now has a cancellation policy to encourage good behavior. And you can always check what else is happening on our Resy Events page.
  • Magna-ficent Lunch: Last month, Filipino hot spot Magna quietly started serving lunch the five days a week it’s open — walk-ins only. Though the menu is short, it’s a great way to snag a few favorites at a much quieter time. An order of lumpia, pancit and a cozy bowl of beef pares mami midday? Say less.
