The Resy Hit List: Where In Portland You’ll Want to Eat Right Now

By

There’s no question we hear more often: Where should I go eat? And while we at Resy know it’s an honor to be the friend who everyone asks for restaurant advice, we also know it’s a complicated task. That’s where the Resy Hit List comes in.

We’ve designed it to be your essential resource for dining in Portland: a monthly-updated (and newly expanded!) guide to the restaurants in that you won’t want to miss — tonight or any night.

Four Things In Portland Not to Miss This Month

  • Valentine’s Day: Every Feb. 14, restaurants across the city trot out prix-fixe menus for the most would-be romantic day of the year. Among our favorites right now: those at Mucca Osteria, upscale Korean barbecue spot Jeju, and the hyper-seasonal Quaintrelle. These book up fast. Reserve today, and check for even more options on our Events page.
  • Hanoi Vibes: Take a virtual visit to the Cầu Giấy district of the Vietnamese capital at The Paper Bridge, which opened late last year in the same building as Scotch Lodge. Find rare-to-Portland Vietnamese dishes like Lang Son-style tossed pho, and the classic favorite bún chả Hanoi. Many ingredients, including custom coffee blends, are imported directly from Vietnam. Make a reservation here.
  • Cutting Edge: Machetes, the roving pop-up dedicated to machetes, the blade-like quesadilla hailing from Mexico City, has been among the city’s must-visits. Signature fillings include ancho-braised top sirloin, huitlacoche, and confit pork. And the menu is balanced out by elotes, chanterelle tostadas and pozole verde. Next pop-up is on Feb. 12 at Houston Blacklight. Check their Instagram for more.
  • Wine-Focused: L’Orange, one of 2023’s best restaurant openings, kicked off its long-awaited tasting menu right after the new year. Snag one of only eight seats at the bar each night for the seven-course set dinner with pairings chosen by owner Jeff Vejr. The $190 menu will wind through raw seafood dishes, larger fish and meat dishes, and end with mignardises. More details here.
