The January Hit List: Katami, Le Jardinier, Nancy’s Hustle, and More

By

January is often a slower month for restaurants after the holiday rush fades, which also makes it the perfect time for diners to finally check off some of the restaurants sitting on their must-try list. (We know you have one.) No doubt it’s a lengthy one, too, since Houston boasts such a diverse and vibrant culinary scene. Not to complicate things, but we’re hoping this month’s Resy Hit List only makes it a bit longer.

Among our suggestions this month? For Japanese, head to hand roll staple Handies Douzo for a quick fix, or to newcomer Katami, chef Manabu “Hori” Horiuchi’s follow-up to Kata Robata. For French, the beautiful Le Jardinier at the Museum of Fine Arts always makes a fine choice, or visit Cocody, River Oaks’ latest French-influenced restaurant. Want casual grub that always hits the spot? Grab a seat at Nonno’s Family Pizza Tavern or the recently opened taqueria Comalito, or revisit Truth Barbecue, where the brisket is always heavenly. There is something to satisfy any manner of craving, so jump right in.
