How to Snag at Table at Catch Miami Beach

By

Miami’s dining scene is unapologetically a scene. Posh restaurant brands from around the world are landing in our Magic City, bringing with them over-the-top dishes and über-talented chefs. One of these recent imports is Catch Hospitality Group’s (CHG) Catch Miami Beach.

For its Miami debut, CHG leveled up by infusing a superior level of detail into everything from its menu to its Rockwell Group-designed refined, tropical space. “It’s our most luxurious product to date,” says Eugene Remm, CHG’s co-founder and partner.

We chatted with the hospitality veteran for insider tips on landing the best table and ordering the most notable dishes. Here’s how to get in — and how to make the most of an evening at this spectacular restaurant.

Resy: What do you hope to bring to Miami with Catch Miami Beach?

Remm: We hope to be the brand standard in the Miami market for experiential dining that balances the perfect blend of great food, service, and vibe.

How many seats do you have?

We have about 180 seats right now for indoor dining.

When is prime time for you?

We feel it from about 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Are there any seats held for walk-ins?

If we can, we always accommodate a last-minute table but do not hold tables specifically for walk-ins.

How far out should someone plan to make a reservation?

Our reservations open on Resy 30 days in advance at 10 a.m.

Set the scene; what can first-timers expect?

True hospitality from the moment they walk into the space with warm welcomes from the door team, the bartenders, and the service staff. A sense of place that they’ve arrived for a memorable evening ahead.

Can diners grab a drink while they wait for a table? Can they eat at the bar?

We encourage them to grab a drink at the bar before dinner, but we do not offer food at the bar — yet.

What are the dishes first-timers should order?

The ‘From Japan to Miami’ section on our menu features some super special dishes. This section highlights our sushi program, which features a premium assortment of fish flown in from Tokyo’s Toyosu Fish Market. The Toyosu platter and omakase boat are favorites, as are any of our Japanese Wagyu steak cuts. But don’t sleep on the mushroom pasta or the herb-roasted branzino.

In your opinion, what’s the best seat in the house?

My favorite seat is at the bar, where you can see everyone coming in while enjoying a casual drink.

Tell us about your wine and cocktail program.

We want to have something for every guest and every type of experience. We have about 400 wines and sakes and a variety of spirits, from your classics to Macallan M and Louis XIII. Our cocktail program remains true to our core brand, but we do have certain cocktails exclusive to the Miami market, like our Biscayne Bay margarita.

What were you most excited about when you opened Catch Miami Beach?

I was most excited to bring our 2024 “second generation” interpretation of the Catch brand to life, and I’m excited to bring it to Dallas and Scottsdale next.

Are there any new announcements that we can look forward to soon?

In the Fall, we’ll be doubling the size of Catch Miami Beach with the opening of our rooftop!

Catch Miami Beach is open for dinner Sunday through Saturday from 5:30 to 11 p.m.
