Located inside Harvard Square’s Lovestruck Books & Café, this wine bar gives romance readers the chance to unwind with George Howell Coffee and natural wines. Eight wines are available by the glass, pulled from a list that prioritizes female winemakers, regional diversity, and lesser-seen varietals. Solid sustenance, meanwhile, comes in the form of cheese and charcuterie plates sourced from Formaggio Kitchen and served alongside potato chips or housemade crostini.

With its red-and-yellow-striped tent on the shoulder of the Fort Point Channel, the Barking Crab is a Boston landmark unto itself. But that’s not what packs its wooden deck year-round (it helps that there’s a wood-burning stove in winter).
