With the pandemic in the rearview mirror and buzzy new restaurant openings again a feature of urban life, now is the perfect time to look back and appreciate the classics that Boston has to offer. And we’re not talking about clam chowder and lobster rolls (though there will be a lobster roll), but venues old and new(ish) that have delivered a fresh class of iconic dishes that represent Boston dining today.

From a best-in-class focaccia to uni-spiked carbonara and dumplings just like mom used to make (if you’re Joanne Chang), these 11 dishes are our nominees for Boston’s new classics.
