Marmite, Homer, Communion, and More: Seattle Dining’s Best in 2021

By

Everyone knows that eating and drinking isn’t just good for the soul. We needed it to survive the pandemic,  especially this past year. And there’s some good news: Thanks to science, we can now share meals – indoors! – with loved ones beyond our respective households. And cocktails. All the glorious cocktails. Cheers to the more than 85% of King County residents who completed their vaccine series.

While it was another year of restaurants going with the flow of dining restrictions, Communion Restaurant & Bar felt like a much-needed reconnection to community. Sure, Kristi Brown’s restaurant serves up pure comfort, but this Black-owned business is much more than its food. It’s a hug, exhale, and celebration in every sip and bite.

From chestnut agnolotti to confit duck leg with roasted turnips, and an abundance of PNW seafood delights (the risotto with spot prawns at Finistère comes to mind), say hello to our absolute favorites from 2021. Please welcome our Best of The Hit List for Seattle, and enjoy the best of what’s out there.
