3 Doors Down Cafe & Lounge Hawthorne
Newly added!
Everybody loves a comeback story. Many fans were devastated when this longtime Italian favorite shut down “permanently” in 2024 — but guess what? It’s back and better than ever, with its neatly focused menu of antipasto, pasta, and a few hearty mains, plus its deftly chosen wine list, and hospitality that will make you want to make it a regular stop.
Terra Mae Alberta
Combining the flavors and aesthetic of Portuguese and Japanese cuisines, Terra Mae fires dishes like milk bread buns with Portuguese olive oil, sunomono with peri-peri chile crisp, duck rice with linguiça, and fishermen’s stew with a hit of miso. Cocktails take the same spin in things like The Last Bull Fight, where ginger and shiso meet mezcal and port.
The Love Shack Slabtown
Theatrical, immersive, and downright fun are just a few ways to describe the vibe at this Slabtown bar. Roving bar carts filled with croissant banh mi, freshly shucked oysters, and wonton fish tacos make the place feel like a supper club dinner party. For even more pizzazz, prime rib comes with a sparkler, and the cocktails lean tropical.
Grana Pizza Napoletana Kerns
The menu is small but mighty, where simple ingredients shine on chewy, crusty, and sometimes very foldable Neapolitan-style pizzas. Think: a perfect Margherita pizza, or one with ricotta, broccolini, and preserved lemon. That, a Caesar, and some panna cotta is all you really need.
Ya Hala – Fairuz Room Montavilla
Ya Hala has long been known for its homey Lebanese and Middle Eastern menu and bustling, cavernous space. But for something unique, check out what’s going on in the intimate 32-seat Fairuz Room. There, an ever-evolving prix-fixe spread, filled with things like asparagus moussaka, beef shank with Swiss chard-stuffed kibbeh dumplings, and baklava made with Oregon hazelnuts, is meant to feel like a homespun dinner party.
