The January Hit List: Jolie, Galatoire’s, Mister Mao, and More

By

In most places, January brings a time to dial back holiday excess. Not so in New Orleans. Here, we are just getting started. With the arrival of Twelfth Night on January 6 comes the start of Carnival season. That night, parades and walking krewes will start hitting the streets, king cakes will roll out, and restaurants and bars will fill anew with revelers seeking to indulge. By the end of the month, the frivolity will ratchet up as visitors join us merrymaking locals, and the season heads towards its rowdy apex.

Resy is here to help. Our latest Resy Hit List pulls together cornerstone restaurants that locals adore and visitors should not miss — among them Commander’s Palace, Galatoire’s, and Herbsaint. We’re also mindful of tough-to-book spots like Jolie that might be a bit easier in the next couple weeks, as well as neighborhood gems like Gris Gris, Mister Mao, and more. Let’s get right to it, and get January started strong.
