Summer is on the wane — finally! The last few months here in the City That Care Forgot have felt uncommonly interminable, especially since Ida rolled through on the anniversary of Katrina. Yes, the days can still sometimes do that swamp thing where the air is sticky as all get-out.

But the city’s swelter is slackening, and with it, the mosquitos’ omnipresence is (sort of) abating. Now is a glorious time to eat and drink outdoors — before winter swoops in. Whether you’re coming to visit, or New Orleans is home, here’s your list of must-visits for the season.
