Chef Zak Pelaccio to host Play with Fire in Hudson Valley

It’s the long awaited follow-up to a 2014 event that featured Sean Brock, Matty Matheson and others, and which, if you had the good fortune to attend, was one of the standout food fests of the past few years. Tickets for the latest Play With Fire, presented by Resy and Ketel One Family-Made Vodka, are available now—it’ll be an all-day-and-into-the-night event in a setting you won’t want to leave.

The specialties of Emilia-Romagna find a spot in Hudson Square

Four summers ago, the chef and restaurateur Zak Pelaccio held an outdoor cooking festival with invited chefs at his farm, Fish & Game, in Hudson, N.Y. He has revived the event this year with about a dozen chefs and bar experts, including Seamus Mullen, Sam Mason, Ignacio Mattos, Victoria Blamey, Jess Shadbolt and Clare de Boer. Resy is one of several sponsors, and proceeds will be donated to the Heirloom Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports health initiatives for restaurant workers.

Momofuku’s David Chang takes over Frankies 457 kitchen

As part of the annual Franks’ Backyard Chef Series, Momofuku guru, David Chang took over the kitchen at Frankies 457 Spuntino in Brooklyn. Chang and fellow chefs — Peruvian powerhouse Pedro Miguel Schiaffino and Frankies co-owners Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli — one-upped each other during a multi-course meal.
