bellyQ features bold, creative riffs on dishes and flavors from Korea and its neighbors. Award-winning chef Bill Kim’s honed his culinary skills at world-renowned establishments Charlie Trotter’s and Le Lan. Here, he offers up a range of delights, from savory scallion pancakes to starters like smoked hamachi dip, signature dishes like lemongrass salmon and sizzling Thai basil beef, and best of all, a three-course, cook-it-yourself feast for those that opt for a grill table. Bonus points for the killer Japanese whisky selection, soft-serve in flavors like PB&J and Vietnamese coffee & donuts, and private karaoke den.

Pacific Standard Time is inspired by the way chef Erling Wu-Bower (Nico Osteria) grew up cooking with his mother, Olivia Wu, a seasoned food writer who raised him in the Midwest and California. His passion for market-driven, California-inspired fare shines through in a menu powered by the restaurant’s centerpiece: two wood-burning hearth ovens. Dishes range from the deceptively simple (a margherita pizza with tomato, mozzarella, preserved Fresno chile, and pistachio pesto) to the unabashedly soulful (braised pork shoulder with ramen broth, bok choy, silken tofu, seaweed and brown rice). As a whole, the restaurant brings a rustic yet clean style of dining, embodied by the bright, mid-century modern space.

At the casual sister restaurant to Logan Square’s highly regarded Osteria Langhe, everything is made from scratch.
