Saba
Uptown
Saba is the flagship restaurant of Pomegranate Hospitality, a New Orleans-based restaurant group founded by James Beard Award-winning chef Alon Shaya. Saba, which means “grandfather” in Hebrew, reflects the chef’s heritage; it’s a journey through food and beverage that pays homage to the culinary landscape of Israel. Wood-fired pita bread complements flavors from Bulgaria, Yemen, Syria, Morocco, Turkey, Palestine and Greece, to name a few. Chef de Cuisine Cara Peterson sources seafood, meats and produce from local farms around New Orleans, guiding them over hot coals to family-style platters on the table.
