1/Kemuri Tatsu-ya
Because Texan izakaya is brilliant, and it’s hard to believe that no one is doing it already. The folks behind Ramen Tatsu-ya took over the former Live Oak Barbecue space to create Kemuri, which means “smoke” in Japanese. Texas informs dishes like the chili cheese takoyaki and smoked brisket ramen. // Holly. Walk-ins only.

2/Kuneho
Because Paul Qui is giving his namesake restaurant a facelift. Kuneho (formerly Qui) boasts a small design makeover and a huge menu makeover. The result is an appetizing array of snacks and small plates, which infuse flavors from Japan, Texas, and the Philippines. // East Sixth. (512)436-9626.

3/Grizzelda’s
Because it’s quickly becoming the hottest patio in a town full of hot patios. Your order: fresh seafood, mezcal cocktails, grilled steak, and plenty of fresh-made tortillas. // Govalle. Book now at Grizzelda’s.

4/Eberly
Because the gorgeous atrium at Eberly is the place to be seen these days. Oh – the 32 ounce ribeye for two isn’t too shabby either. // South Lamar. (512) 916-9000.

5/Oakwood BBQ
Because if the question is, “Does Austin need another barbecue joint?” the answer is always, “Hell, yes.” This time it’s North Austin’s turn. Get here before the line starts forming. // North Austin. Walk-ins only.

6/June’s All Day
Because if there’s a prettier, sunnier spot to have a glass of wine in the middle of the afternoon, we haven’t found it yet. And while wine may be the specialty here, you shouldn’t sleep on the fresh and lively breakfast, including one of the city’s best appetizer spreads. // South Congress. (512) 416-1722

7/Old Thousand
Because its slogan is #DopeChinese, and it has the food to back it up. Old Thousand is in it to win it with dishes like brisket fried rice, kung pao cauliflower, and Chinese 5 spice churros. // East Side. Walk-ins only.

8/Tillery
Because you don’t have to head to the Hill Country for food with a view anymore. Tillery focuses on clean eats like seasonal pastas and sandwiches, but the real draw is a sweeping view of the Colorado River. // Govalle. (512) 524-0580.

9/Olamaie
Because Austin’s best Southern restaurant is now, for the first time, open seven nights a week. Sunday night biscuit-and-bourbon tasting? Yes, please. // Arts District. Book now at Olamaie.

10/Flyrite #2
Because to-die-for fried chicken sandwiches aren’t just for the East Side anymore. This North Central Austin staple boasts crispy fried spicy chicken, chicken tender breakfast tacos, and salted caramel milkshakes. // Brentwood. Walk-ins only.

Bonus/Foreign & Domestic
Because while it isn’t new to Austin, it is new to Resy. Welcome, welcome! // North Loop. Book now at Foreign & Domestic.
