Why We Like it: For the authentic Argentine shared plates, and for its suitability for pre- and post-game drinking (thanks to its location, just around the corner from the Staples Center).
This all-day café in DTLA’s South Park aims to replicate the corner neighborhood restaurants of Buenos Aires. There is tortilla española and chia seed pudding in the morning, sandwiches and empañadas midday, and small plates from cold and hot picadas to plancha grilled — at dinner. Cocktails (or cócteles) are a highlight, too, with offerings like the michelada, paloma, and an “old fashioned” made with fat-washed bourbon.

Why We Like It: In a city filled to the brim with Mexican joints, Broken Spanish offers something distinctly different: Ray Garcia’s unique culinary sensibilities. Every dish on the menu — from tamales to tres leches — is unlike anything you’ve ever had before.
A modern Mexican restaurant helmed by chef and native Angeleno Ray Garcia, Broken Spanish puts out food that’s both sophisticated and adventurous (think rabbit meatballs, duck confit enchiladas, and the like). Why We Like It: Yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño. Baked crab hand rolls. A4 Wagyu fried rice. The food at Katsuya is crave-worthy and always reliable.
The signature crispy rice with tuna is just as good as everyone says, but it’s not the only thing this restaurant excels at. Chef Katsuya Uechi’s domain encompasses a range of specialty starters, sushi and sashimi (including omakase), and robata classics. Steak and wine is the modus operandi at Fleming’s, a classic steakhouse with just the right vibe.
