Note: This list will be updated regularly with new additions each month, so be sure to check back often. For Los Angeles’ newest restaurant openings, head here.
Corteza at Sendero Los Angeles
Newly added!
The seafood-focused menu in the multifaceted space at the JW Marriott downtown finds inspiration from Baja to Peru with its ceviches, tostadas, grilled whole fish, and brothy stews. Everything feels like a journey, and city views from the 24th floor are definitely a bonus.
Leña at Sendero Los Angeles
Newly added!
It’s hard to beat a bone-in ribeye, crisp empanadas with chimichurri, tortilla de papas, and something mezcal-forward to pair with it all. But when you add twinkling city views from floor-to-ceiling windows, it’s a show.
Bar Next Door West Hollywood
Newly added!
A proper haven amid the Sunset Strip’s dozens of splashy, boozy nightlife options, Bar Next Door stands out as a mellow(er) gem for cocktails. Vintage touches like a reel-to-reel machine, neon in the window, and vintage stools along the bar add to the sepia-tone vibe. Drinks run the gamut, but you can’t go wrong with a classic martini or old fashioned.
Amarone Kitchen & Bar Fairfax
Newly added!
Old-school and friendly, Amarone’s the neighborhood spot you wish was steps from your door. Everything’s made in-house, from the breads to the pasta to that vanilla bean-flecked panna cotta that’s on everyone’s table come dessert. If you can’t decide between mushroom ravioli and rigatoni alla vodka, just get both.
Intercrew Koreatown
Newly added!
This super swank Koreatown supper club harkens back to places where you go for dinner and stay for the show and cocktails. It’s a pretty sexy space with eye-catching chandeliers, big booths, and gleaming brassy accents. The menu’s California focus means things like hamachi crudo, little gem salads, grilled ribeye, and truffle fries.
Ugo Restaurant Culver City
Newly added!
This downtown Culver City stalwart is beloved for its Italian staples and gelato. The menu has something for everyone, a boon for neighborhood families, studio workers needing a quick fix, and moviegoers looking for a bite after a show. Pizzas are a go-to, as is the tiramisu.
Xi’an Beverly Hills Beverly Hills
Newly added!
A Chinese staple for the 90201 set, this longtime favorite combines Chinese classics and lighter fusion dishes that never seem out of style. It’s where juicy pork dumplings, kung pao chicken, and lo mein sit comfortably alongside fried cauliflower and crispy Brussels sprouts.
Louka Beverly Hills Beverly Hills
Newly added!
Art-filled walls, a great bar, and a dining room that spills out onto the sidewalk patio — it’s the perfect spot for a date or lunch with friends. You can’t go wrong with any of the salads, taramasalata and other dips, and perfectly grilled lamb chops. Don’t leave without sharing some bougatsa for dessert.
hibi. Koreatown
Newly added!
As with most hidden gems, the exterior of this K-town strip mall find belies the wild creativity happening inside. The menu and chef change throughout the seasons (yes, the chef, too), so go more than once to experience something new. You’re guaranteed to find beautifully presented dishes with Korean and Japanese influences.
Baar Baar – LA South Park
Newly added!
Slip into one of the big velvet booths, watch the dripping chandeliers sparkle, and sip on Bollywood-inspired cocktails, like an old-fashioned with saffron syrup and ghee-washed bourbon. Eating beautiful, modern Indian food — avocado bhel, Kashmiri duck birria tacos, Kerala fried chicken — hits right in this pretty space.
Azay Little Tokyo
Newly added!
Though he’s no longer cooking in the open kitchen, chef Akira Hirose’s legacy and love of Franco-Japanese cuisine runs deep in this friendly Little Tokyo gem. During the day, it’s a perfect meet-up for breakfast bentos; at night, you might find crab and uni milk toast, binchotan-grilled matsutake mushrooms, and sea bass with ratatouille on the tasting menu.
IL NIDO Sherman Oaks/ Encino
Newly added!
This cozy spot feels like such a find, especially when craving handmade pasta, charming service that makes everyone feel like family, and one heck of a tiramisu. Rigatoni with eggplant and ricotta salata, chicken piccata, and pizza with perfect pepperoni cups keep regulars on repeat.
Pitfire Pizza – Westwood Westwood
Newly added!
No matter the location, Pitfire keyed in on what it does well: Chewy, sourdough–crust pizzas with seasonally changing toppings (yes to Brussels sprouts and bacon any time of year), big salads, and family-friendly pastas like baked mac and cheese. There are also tons of vegetable side dishes that, ordered a few at a time, can easily be made into a delightful meal.
Book the North Hollywood location, too.
Chateau Marmont West Hollywood
Let’s be honest: You’re here for the lore, the scene, and the chance to see a few famous faces. But we’re forever grateful that whatever you order far supersedes expectations, from omelets and eggs Bennie to burrata and burgers. Dining on the patio is a rite of passage for many in this town, from power breakfast to bubbly-filled brunch.
Cipriani Beverly Hills – Jazz Café Beverly Hills
Newly added!
It’s one thing to nibble on Cipriani’s carpaccio with a bellini in hand, it’s another to do it with some live jazz playing in the background. This second-level lounge, with its dark wooden bar, zebra-patterned banquettes and baby grand piano, is as swank as it comes. That includes the menu: oysters, caviar, the works.
Chelsea Santa Monica
Newly added!
A fun little date spot for the UCLA crowd, the menu at Chelsea draws inspiration from its namesake London neighborhood — a tangle of Indian, East African, and European flavors — plus Santa Monica seasonality. Think harissa lamb tartare with crispy polenta, tikka masala fried chicken, and cocktails with zero-proof counterparts.
Holbox Historic South-Central
You’ll be hard-pressed to find better mariscos in L.A. You can always go for the counter-order-sit-down experience; every bite of aguachiles, taco de pulpo, and cocktails will be spot on. But the twice-a-week, eight-course tasting menus genuinely show the breadth of chef Gilberto Cetina’s magic with incredibly fresh seafood and locally-sourced ingredients.
Note: Reservations are for the tasting menu nights only.
Felix Trattoria Venice
Because Abbot Kinney is home to Evan Funke’s OG regional Italian restaurant, where fresh pasta is made right before your eyes. Don’t leave without the puffy focaccia, tagliatelle with Bolognese ragu, or tonnarelli cacio e pepe. The small bar is just the spot to satisfy a pre-dinner Negroni craving.
Paloma Venice Venice
California’s desert meets the Mediterranean at Paloma, to the tune of vintage vinyl playing in the background. Sit on the patio surrounded by potted plants and bougainvillea, tuck into oysters and crudo, laffa bread and spreads, cacio e pepe, and salmon with chimichurri. Or just sip a few cocktails and watch that Venice light turn to dusk.
Pitfire Pizza – Pasadena Pasadena
No matter the location, Pitfire keyed in on what it does well: Chewy, sourdough-crust pizzas with seasonally changing toppings (yes to Brussels sprouts and bacon any time of year), big salads, and family-friendly pastas like baked mac and cheese. There are also tons of vegetable side dishes that, ordered a few at a time, can easily be made into a delightful meal.
Quarter Sheets Echo Park
You won’t be able to decide between a whole thick-and-crisp-edged pizza, slices of chewy Sicilian squares, or a piece of fluffy tomato pie. And there’s no way you’re skipping a slice of cake after either. Just know you’re here to enjoy and indulge in a significant amount of glorious carbs (and natural wine) at this wildly popular Echo Park spot.
