Groundbreaking modern Southern chef Sean Brock may have stepped away from Husk a few years back, but this Charleston original continues to flourish with Raymond England in the kitchen, translating the very best of local and seasonal ingredients into updated takes on the South’s great culinary repertoire.

Local-born chef Patrick Owens (of Langdon’s, Opal, and Wood & Grain) continues to expand his empire of culinary delights with this Mount Pleasant tribute to tacos and Latin American-style seafood. The serious assortment of Tequilas and mezcals is well worth exploring.

Because there’s excellent pub food — think pulled-pork nachos and a shrimp po’boy — to be found at this cozy Meeting Street bar and restaurant opened by brothers Brendan and Brian Kirkpatrick, who also run a well-known establishment of the same name on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
