The New York Restaurants Where We Want to Be Regulars

By

Who among us doesn’t want to be a restaurant regular? We all have that dream, the one where we walk up to the bar, or sit down at the table, and the server says, “The usual?” Being a regular is one of life’s gifts, especially when you’re considered one at a truly supreme neighborhood restaurant.

In New York, a city with more than 20,000 restaurants, this can be difficult. You may feel daunted by the sheer number of choices, or convinced that, with so many people coming through the doors, they’d never remember you. We’re here to tell you that you’re wrong to be afraid, and better yet, we can tell you exactly where to go to achieve your dreams. We’ve rounded up gems in 33 different neighborhoods (expect even more entries in future updates) across the city where we want to be regulars at: places with exceptionally good food, low wait times, and warm, friendly service that you’ll want to return to again and again.

Newly added on Aug. 16: Achilles Heel, Winona’s, Take31, Tobalá, Pisticci, Decades Pizza, Haenyeo, Ras Plant Based, Kaizen NYC, Zaab Zaab, and Naked Tomato.
