The Resy Guide to Outdoor Dining in Los Angeles

By

No one really needed a mandate from the mayor to dine out on a patio around Los Angeles during the summer: We’ll sit outside when it’s 60 degrees or when temps reach 100. But allowing restaurants to extend outdoor seating to parking lots and sidewalks means a lot more options right now.

As we move into the next phase of reopening, here are some don’t-miss restaurants with expanded patios,  nooks and more outdoor seating than ever. Reservations are usually mandatory, as are masks, that latter part being California law. Most restaurants require that you wear the mask when not at your table; servers will definitely be masked. (If you want more insights on good restaurant manners right now, we’ve got thoughts.) Hand sanitizing stations, temperature checks, regular cleaning cycles, disposable everything — all there for your safety. Also, don’t forget your sunglasses.

And if you don’t see your favorite restaurant open yet, you can always use My Hit List to stay notified about when it plans to reopen.

New on 7/29: Hippo; Guerrilla Tacos; Dan Tana’s; Chulita; Marvin; The Butcher, the Baker, the Cappuccino Maker; Casa Vega.
