The Resy Guide to the Women-Owned Restaurants of Atlanta


As a queer, African American woman starting her culinary career in the 90’s, the road to success wasn’t easy for Deborah VanTrece, the chef-owner behind West Midtown’s brilliant Twisted Soul Cookhouse and Pours.

“I experienced many difficulties during my time in the field,” says VanTrece. “It’s my hope that the next generation of young women in the culinary industry will be able to walk through the doors I am working to kick down.”

VanTrece will host a dinner paying tribute to local entrepreneur Juanita Baranco, the trailblazer who gave her a chance as a young struggling caterer, as part of Resy’s The Women of Food global dinner series.

At its core, the series believes that behind every great restaurant is a woman — and these women-owned restaurants in Atlanta are testament to that.
