Violet, Intersect by Lexus, Benno, Now on The Resy Hit List

Because Matt Hyland has done it again. Having added Rhode Island-style grilled pies to his repertoire at Violet, it seems that there’s no style the modern pizzaiolo can’t master. His creativity here extends beyond pizza, too—think stuffed clams (with linguica, pretzels, and uni) and pork-and-duck tortellini in dashi brodo with Sichuan oil.

Because the new year brings yet another new cuisine for New Yorkers to savor: Vietnamese barbecue from the lauded Madame Vo team. Grab your crew, make a Resy, and spring for the “bon 7 mon”– a five-course beef feast prepared, in part, on your tabletop grill.

Because Prospect Heights is giving Greenpoint a run for its money. Here, chef Nico Russell, formerly of Michelin-starred gems Restaurant Daniel and Mirazur, dishes out inventive, seasonal, and affordable plates. Make the trip for mushroom pot-au-feau in the dining room, or crispy pig trotter at the bar.

Because the second outpost of this beloved cocktail spot is now slinging libations in Midtown, and boasting 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline. The glitzy locale spans two floors, 40th and 41st, and upstairs is reservations-only. So, secure your table and look forward to sinking into a plush booth with a Panorama Daiquiri.

Because like it or not, it’s ramen season. And TabeTomo, helmed by a chef from LA’s cult-favorite noodle shop, Tsujita, is now dishing out deeply satiating bowls of tsukemen (read: dipping ramen) at TabeTomo. The noodles are rich and eggy and the signature pork broth is brewed for 60 hours—food that warms the heart and soul.

Because seek shelter from the cold at this beloved Williamsburg mainstay. Cozy up with a burger and some natural wine; a meal at Diner, which just celebrated its 20th year in business, always delivers.

Because when the weekend rolls around, you’ll be needing an indoor activity. Our rec? A lazy, luxurious lunch at Flora Bar, complete with a whole sampling of pastries for the table, followed by an hour or two meandering through the Met Breuer.
