The Winemakers of Oz—NYC Celebrates Aussie Wine Week

By

In recent years, Australia has sparked the interest of industry experts as an innovative hub for world-class winemaking. This September, the second annual Aussie Wine Week sees New York restaurants and wine shops featuring a wide range of sought-after bottles from classic to contemporary.

Running from Monday, September 10th through Friday the 14th, this celebration of southern hemisphere winemakers will feature far more than Shiraz. From Semillon to Cinsault, Pinot Noir to Pet Nat, adventurous drinkers across Manhattan, the boroughs and even nearby suburbs can discover a broader perspective on Aussie wines at the following locations:

Babu Ji (Union Square)
Acclaimed for its Australian-influenced Indian cuisine, Babu Ji will serve a special Tasting Menu with wine pairings from South Australia and Victoria. Playing off such flavors as tamarind, ginger and curry, Beverage Director Steven Brewer’s selections promise to demonstrate the versatility of Australian wines in complementing complex flavors.
